Diploma and Extended Diploma in Horse Management
About this Course...
The course is suitable for those who wish to develop a career in the horse care industry. The course covers a range of topics to develop the skills required for careers in horse management. Students on the Level 3 Extended Diploma can gain up to 360 UCAS points.
Some of the areas your course will cover are
Animal Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Riding, Animal Health, Practical Handling, Husbandry and Feeding, Work Related Experience in the Horse Management Sector Business, Management for Land-Based Industries, Investigative Project in the Horse Management Sector and others.
5 GCSEs at C+ including English, maths and or science First Diploma in Animal Care at Merit, City and Guilds National Certificate Horse Care (75%) Credit grade
A commitment to working with horses you will be working within the stable yard so you need to be flexible and prepared to work outside in all weathers.
Length of course
Up to two years depending on the amount of credits dependent of which level of course you take.
NPTC Level 3 Certificate, Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma and Extended Diploma in Horse Management
You will be assessed throughout your course through practical tests, written assignments and group work.
Students on this course can progress to Higher Education to study for a degree in a related subject. Alternatively, students may wish to progress to a career in related industries.
