NPTC Level 3, Diploma and Extended Diploma in Animal Management
About this Course...
The course is suitable for those who wish to develop a career in the animal care industry. The course covers a range of topics to develop the skills required for careers in animal management, including trainee veterinary nurse, zoo keeper and animal rehabilitation technician. Students on the Level 3 Extended Diploma can gain up to 360 UCAS points.
Some of the areas your course will cover are
Animal Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Welfare and Breed Development, Animal Health, Practical Animal Handling, Husbandry and Feeding, Work Related Experience in the Animal Management Sector Business, Management for Land-Based Industries, Investigative Project in the Animal Management Sector and others.
5 GCSEs at C+ including English, maths and or science First Diploma in Animal Care at Merit, City and Guilds National Certificate in Animal Care (75%) Credit grade
A commitment to working with animals. You will be working within our animal houses as well as outside with a range of livestock and other animals so you need to be flexible and prepared to work outside in all weathers.
Length of course
Up to two years depending on the amount of credits the number of credits grained will depend on which level of course is completed.
NPTC Level 3 Certificate, Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma and Extended Diploma in Animal Management
You will be assessed throughout your course through practical tests, written assignments and group work.
Students on this course can progress to Higher Education to study for a degree in a related subject. Alternatively, students may wish to progress to a career in conservation, agriculture or other related industries.
